It’s no fun to be classed as having a “bad credit” situation. The irony is, that sometimes people find themselves classed as bad credit risks even though they may have no financial problems whatsoever. Anyone new to the UK, either having just moved from abroad or studying at University will find that the credit agencies will have no record of them. In this case they will be unsure of their credit status and err on the side of cautions, assigning a “bad credit” status to them which will be negatively viewed by lenders. Also, people who have never needed any types of credit before will also have no record of using credit services: so will be classed in a similar manner. This is one of the reasons why you need to regularly review your credit record to check what signals on it may be causing issues with potential credit lenders.
